Could you believe Telugu Film Industry has lost revenue to the tune of Rs 1,066 crore in the past one-and-a-half year? This shocking revelation was made by none other than Telugu Film Chamber's Anti-Piracy Cell chief Akella Raj Kumar.
During the launch of Telangana Intellectual Property Crime Unit (TIPCU) in Hyderabad, Mr. Raj Kumar informed over 10 million downloads of pirated Telugu films have taken place in the past 18 months. He adds, 138 Websites encouraging Telugu films piracy has been identified so far.
IT Minister KTR assured Government would stand by Tollywood in curbing piracy. He even informs adequate measures were taken against pornographic sites.

TIPCU is a major step towards curbing the piracy in Tollywood. From now, The Cyber Crime Wing of CID will look after the TIPCU.
