Social Activist Anna Hazare opined India's rural economy will face disastrous consequences due to the prestigious Smart Cities project of Narendra Modi-led NDA Government.
In his 3-page letter to Prime Minister, Anna Hazare said people were is a dilemma over whom among Mahatma Gandhi, who advocated development of villages, and Narendra Modi, who talks about Urbanization and Smart Cities, were right. He warned rise in diseases and global warming is the price people are paying for Urbanization. He felt issues like rising population and more number of bigger dams have been a result of Urbanization.
Being a follower of Gandhi who gave a call 'Go To Villages', Anna Hazare suggested Narendra modi to focus on development of villages for the overall benefits of entire nation. He expressed concerns over lack of decentralization of power in the country.
Anna Hazare's letter came in response to Narendra Modi's addressed at the launch of Smart Cities Project on June 25th in Pune.
