Ashok Gajapathi Raju compares Airlines to HORSE

Union Civil Aviation Minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju on Thurday made some interesting comments over the non-functional airports. Comparing Airlines to a Horse, He said one can take the animal to the water but can't force it to drink.

Mr.Raju made these remarks while talking about 32 airports which continued to remain non-functional inspite of provide necessary infrastructure. He opined this is the reason behind failure in meeting the demand for air connectivity to several cities including Mysuru. He also told Airports Authority of India is constantly trying to increase the count of airports and improve regional connectivity.



The Aviation Minister told Lok Sabha that approvals have been granted for 15 new airports in the country. This include locations like Navi Mumbai, Mopa (Goa), Shirdi, Hasan & Shimoga (Karnataka), Sindhudurg (Maharashtra), Kannur (Kerala), Durgapur (West Bengal), Bijapur, Hasan and Gulbarga,
