As per the Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) Rankings released by Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion in July, Telangana (60.24 percent) and Andhra Pradesh (55.75 percent) were ranked at 1st and 2nd Positions. Although Final Rankings were expected only in September, There won't be much change in the current list.

Final Rankings will be given after representatives of World Bank & Global Consultancy Firm KPMG confirm whether the reforms introduced by states were just on paper or implemented at the ground level.

In September last year, AP and Telangana were placed at 2nd and 13th positions respectively in EoDB. AP received a shock after it slipped to 19th Position by June 2016, whereas Telangana stood at 2nd Spot. In just a Month, AP managed to be one among the Top 3.

Recently, Telangana and AP Governments accused each other of stealing the data from their Ease-of-Doing-Business Website. Centre, however, made them realize that just copying the data won't guarantee anyone a good rank.
