Anti-Arrack Activist Dubagunta Rosamma passed away at the age of 93. She is suffering from various health related issues since a couple of years.

In 1991, Dubagunta Rosamma launched a movement against cheap-liquor in Dubagunta Village of Kanigiri Mandal, Nellore District. This movement had a huge influence on NT Rama Rao who was the Opposition Leader then. That's when the TDP Founder declared that complete prohibition on liquor will be implemented if his party comes to power in the next election. He even kept his promise after forming the Government with a huge majority in 1995. With the popularity she gained through the Anti-Arrack Movement, Dubagunta has become the surname of Rosamma.

Family Members say, Both the kidneys of Rosamma weren't in good state. Dialysis couldn't be conducted as her body don't have the strength to bear it. She even stopped taking food for the past two days.

Dubagunta Rosamma is such an inspiring women. May her soul Rest-In-Peace!
