Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy is considered as No.2 in the YSR Congress party ever since it was floated by YS Jaganmohan Reddy. This senior parliamentarian seems to be mulling at shifting loyalties if the buzz in political circles is to be believed.

Reportedly, Mekapati is unhappy over the little prominence he was receiving within the party. He feels party leadership has been encouraging first time-MPs and not giving due respect to a senior like him.

There are reports of BJP Topbrass Leaders inviting Mekapati to join the National party. The Nellore MP, however, didn't take a final call on his future so far.

Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy got elected as MLA once and MP on five occasions (1989, 2004, 2009, 2012 & 2014). He is known to be Congress loyalist until Jagan revolted against UPA and maintained good relations with former CM late YSR. Post the death of YSR, Mekapati resigned to his post, won the by-poll in 2012 and retained his spot again in 2014 by contesting on YSRC ticket.
