Supreme Court Today warned Karnataka Government against the consequences of defy its order over the release of 6,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu. Asking the Siddaramaiah Government to stop defying the orders, It set a deadline of releases of water to Tamil Nadu by 2 pm on Tuesday for abiding by the verdict.

Karnataka Government is likely to hold a special legislative session Today to discuss about the Supreme Court's latest verdict.


In the meantime, Union Government has been seeking change of Supreme Court's order so that Cauvery Water Management Board (CWMB) could be set up to resolve the dispute.

On Sunday, CM Siddharamaiah told Karnataka has been a victim but not a villain in the Cauvery water dispute.
