Is it so easy to have Rs 1 crore ?: Venkaiah

Vice President Venkaiah Naidu said Saturday that offering violent threats and announcing rewards for physical harm is unacceptable in a democracy. He criticized some religious groups that undermine the rule of law in the country.

While attending a literary festival in New Delhi, Venkaiah Naidu was of the opinion that there was now a new problem with some films that cited protests in the name of hurting the feelings of people, religion, and the community. . He adds, "Sometimes the protesters go to sea and announce rewards equivalent to crores. I doubt that these people have so much money. Everyone arrives with an offer of Rs 1. Is it so easy to have Rs 1 crore?
Venkaiah Naidu said that everyone has the right to demonstrate in a democratic manner and file a complaint with the relevant authorities, but it is unacceptable to physically hinder and give violent threats. "Neither can you take the law into your hands or hurt the other feelings," he said.

The vice-president believes that it is wrong to link religion (mode of worship) and culture (way of life).

While responding to the controversy over 'Padmavati', BJP leader LK Advani warned the Center of the problem it will face in the future if appropriate measures are not taken at the right time. He believes that few films could be disturbed in the same way if the government did not take appropriate action.
