Within hours after making derogatory remarks against BSP chief Mayawati, BJP Leadership expelled its Uttar Pradesh unit Vice President Dayashankar Singh from the party for six years. Mr. Singh is also relieved from all the responsibilities of the saffron party with immediate effect.
Dayashankar Singh's derogatory remarks on Mayawati stirred a huge controversy with several Women MPs joining chorus with the Opposition Parties. Arun Jaitley who is Leader of the Upper House condemned the comments made by Dayashankar Singh. However, Mayawati demanded for expulsion of Mr.Singh from BJP and stringent action against him. Even Rajya Sabha's Deputy Chairperson PJ Kurien suggested Government to take appropriate action.
On Wednesday, Dayashankar Singh compared Mayawati to a prostitute. He further added, BSP Chief offers party tickets charging money and she is worse than sex workers.
