YSR Congress on Friday received a major setback in the form of Supreme Court order. What is it all about?

It is known that YCP moved Supreme Court seeking disqualification of its 20 MLAs who defected to the ruling TDP. The Main Opposition informed the Court about the unethical practice of winning the election by contesting on ticket offered by one party and shifting loyalties to the other party for the sake of undue favors.

Much to the shock of YSRC, Supreme Court Today struck down the petition saying Assembly Speaker alone could have the powers to disqualify the legislators. The Bench also suggested YCP to move High Court on this matter if required. This judgement came as a breather for YCP MLAs who joined TDP in the recent past.

Notably, AP Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao turned down the disqualification petition submitted to him by YSR Congress on grounds that it didn't comply with the rules.
