Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel Today declares Small Private Vehicles will be exempted from paying Toll Tax in the state from August 15th this year. She made this announcement during the inauguration of 67th Van Mahotsav function.

Toll Tax exemption willn't apply for Small Commercial Vehicles and Bigger Vehicles. Only Small Private Vehicles such as bikes and cars will get benefitted.

Chief Minister informed that a survey is being conducted to figure out the burden on State Government following the implementation of the new rule. This exemption, however, don't affect toll booths on National Highways as they aren't under the purview of State Government.

Protests of Patidars and Dalits were posing a threat to BJP Government in Gujarat. The latest move is an attempt to improve the prospects of the BJP in the state Assembly polls scheduled to happen in December 2017.
