Telengana's traditional festival Bhathukamma is turning more popular in USA. Several hundreds of NRIs in Dallas, Sacramento, Chicago, North Caroline, Ohio and California participated in Bhathukamma festival. Just like Diwali, several Indians in USA are celebrating Bhathukamma festival.

It is known that USA president Obama recognized Indian festival Diwali last year, and celebrated it along with the Indians in USA. Diwali is the most celebrated festival in USA and hence it earned the recognition from the president. Now as Bhathukamma too is gaining popularity, Americans may learn more about Indian festivals.



Compared to last year, the number of NRIs who participated in Bhathukamma raised this year. As it is a festival for women, most of the women irrespective of their origin were participating in this festival and are learning more about the Indian culture.
