Book Criminal Cases on Boyapati Srinu

Former Congress MP GV Harsha Kumar's Son Sriram demanded criminal cases be booked against Boyapati Srinu holding him responsible for the stampede during Godavari Pushkarams.

Speaking to media persons, GV Sriram alleged: 'Boyapati was holding a mike in his hand and the gates of Pushkar Ghat were opened the moment he shouted 'vadalandi'. This eventually led to a stampede. Does Boyapati have the stature to take the mike from a Chief Minister's hand and order officials to open the gates? Action should be taken against Commissioner, Collector, Sub-Collector and SP. We have lodged a complaint in 3-Town Police Station on July 21st, 2015. The FIR Copy was submitted to Justice Somayajulu Commission which is investigating the stampeded incident'.



Nearly 30 People died and several others got injured due to the stampede on first day of auspicious Godavari Pushkarams in Rajahmundry. Most of the deceased were identified as women. Heavy Rush & Opening the Pushkhar Ghat gates at once were said to the major reasons behind the stampede.
